I have not tried it on roses but have air-layered many oleanders, ficus
types and house plants. There is a good description of the technique at the
FAIRS site at http://hammock.ifas.ufl.edu/txt/fairs/48073. You can get a
fairly large plant started quite easily. Many, but not all, roses are
usually grafted onto a more vigorous root stock so you should probably
determine first if yours would thrive on a self-propagated root or if a
different rootstock is required. -Olin
