 Hi everyone, I would like to know some names of seeds which come out of
 dormancy faster (i.e. germinate) when we expose them to any of the
following:
 extreme light, extreme cold or heat, stratification, acid.
 Also, which season are these seeds naturally dormant in.
 I would appreciate it if anyone can give even one name.

 Thank-you.

Aconitum = darkness
cyclamen= darkness
digitalis = light
dodecatheon = light
hibiscus = light
yucca = light
Vinca = darkness
Stokesia = light
antirrhinum = light
 many grasses respond to heat, crabgrass needs soil temps in the high 70's to
germinate.
 trillium needs a warm then a cold period to germ.
salvia = cold
 phlox = cold
Corydalis = cold
Adonis = cold
Aconitum = cold
 the acid trat- would be those that should be eaten and pass through threw
gut of animals. like buckthorn.
 many plants have a complicated germination life cycle.
 trillium = seed is ripe in mid-to late summer if it is moist out the seed
will grow a root in the spring after a cold period. as the root grows in the
spring the plant grows a small rhizome. after a second cold period the plant
will send up a stem above ground.
Many terrestrial orchids germinate and then grow under ground for two-five
years under ground with out leaves, before they send up green stems.

I wish I could be more complete but I am not in access to my reference
materials.
