Hi all,
Is anyone able to offer advice about conditions and treatment required
for the germination of Grewia seeds? Specifically, Grewia occidentalis,
which I believe may be grown in North America, probably in the south
(indigenous to Africa). I didn't have much luck with the first lot I tried -
autumn harvested, spring sown.
Perhaps someone has more general advice for pip-like seeds? The fruit
is a thin fleshy layer, dried when ripe (hence the common name
variations on 'raisin'), and it contains a woody pip or nut about the size of
a cherry pip. Does one generally need to soak such seeds? How?
Any help would be appreciated.
Regards,
Martin
