Dear Dawn;
I got some filementosa seeds last year from Chilterns. I planted them in
February under lights with some bottom heat in a sandy perlite mix. Most
germinated and over this past summer grew about 15 cm or so. I planted them
outdoors in a sheltered place that gets quite hot with the sun.
Why all this happened is because I was given a plant a few years back and
planted it outdoors not expecting much. However , in the second year it
bloomed spectacularly. (2m high, large creamy white flowers etc,) so I
wanted more.
The irony now is that the old plant has sent up a dozen or more shoots that
are 20-30 cm high in just one year. I now have quite a patch of Yucca that
promises to be a show next year or the year after.
