Re: African Violets - What now?

I am sorry Dawn, but I must make a correction here. African Violets are tropical
plants. They don't know winter in their constitution. We put them in the house
when the weather cools or keep them in the house year-round to simulate a
year-round climate with temperatures above 70 deg F. They want fertilizer
year-round because they grow year-round and are heavy feeders. It's OK not to
believe in fertilizer in winter, as you say, but that does not apply to tropical
plants. I have been growing African Violets for 25 years now and they love the
fertilizer in winter ( because they don't realize it is winter outside).
