Pawpaw seed must be fresh and not allowed to dry or it dies (or at very least goes very dormant). If you bought dry seed, you probably won't get anything from it. Seed must not freeze, either. Just put it in moist peat in the refrigerator for about 3 months before planting. Also, seedlings don't emerge until it is very warm.
