Lillian, Sometime around 1960 I experimented with over three dozen different
labels that came from all parts of the world. While there were a couple of
labels that was superior, I settled on one label based on price/performance
and have been using them to this day. They are permanent and can be written
on both sides. I get these from the manufacturer and the price is less than
1/2 for the same label listed in many "wholesale" catalogs. There is many
sizes available but the one I use is 7/8" x 3". They are packaged in lots
of 500 and come with or without 9" aluminum wires. The approximate price is
around $ 18.00 for 500 with wires and shipping. I generally order 10 to 12
thousand and distribute them to our Rhododendron Society Chapter members.
I don't know if the price would be different for smaller quantities.
