If you are interested in growing delphiniums, I highly recommend
starting with seed from Dowdeswell's Delphiniums. They are located in
New Zealand, and fresh seed is available during the spring in the
northern hemisphere. I started some of their seed in late April, and am
cutting the last of the blooms before they freeze. The colors are
wonderful, and the plants are very vigorous. Some of the seedlings
reached 6 feet tall with full sized flower heads, 5 months from seed. I
can't wait to see how they do next year. Dowdeswell's Delphiniums has a
