Re: Tip for the home propagator

Dean,
I am doing something very similar. I bought an orchid fogger for $200 ---
but it is nothing more than a heavy-duty home humidifier, the kind with the
rotating disk. Since these are <$40 at Walmart, I would think that 5 of
the cheap ones would outlast one of the expensive ones.

The orchid fogger DOES include a float valve to turn the water on and off
(no refilling --- plumb right to the water line). I think that installing
an overflow and a little bit of trial-and-error with an on/off valve would
work as well.

I am very happy with the performance so far. My system tends to run
nonstop during the summer, and as such, it tends to run things a little too
wet. A better timer (one with intervals, not just on and off) would solve
the problem.
