One fall, I grabed the red berries off a dogwood tree and planted them in
potting soil in a small container. I left them outside all winter to go
with the flo of the weather. In the spring, I had very high germination.
Almost 100%. I then separated the seedlings and planted them in a nursery
bed to grow out further. This is in zone 8 in NC. I have noticed a lot of
natural seedlings comming up in odd places, mostly seed dropped by birds I
guess, so I figured they would grow readily. Sure enough, they did. Good
