Isabel,

Genus name: Daphne
Species name: mezereum
Storage behaviour: Orthodox
Storage conditions:
A few seeds survive 35 years storage in paper bags at room temperature
(Crocker, 1938)

In the first supplement to the second edition Deno deals directly with
D.mezereum
 - no mention of DS or of cleaning seed (but I think with Deno this is taken
for granted, although in the following Datura entry he did try some seeds
still enclosed in berries (probably Brugmansia))

D.mezereum 40-70(26%)-40-70(74% in 1-6 w), 70 GA-3(60% in 5-10 w), and
70D(15%)-40(8%)-70(15%)

It is likely that the rotting of the flesh under natural conditions has a
similar effect to the GA-3.

Best wishes,

Matthew Sleigh
