Merlene, If you'd like some seed, let me know and I'll send it to you.
For propagation info, email Brian Hutchings who is on the Medit plant list,
cusheoncreek@saltspring.com. Check with Brian before you decide to start
them from seed, because as I understand it, they are quite complicated to
start. On the other hand, you should be able to find them very easily in
No. California. Look for any place that sells native plants, botanical
gardens, etc. Do be aware, as Anni mentioned, that they really spread!
I've had a clump that started as two plants about four years ago. They've
covered an area at least 15 x 15 and have swallowed several other plants.
They are most invasive in sandy soil, it appears. Also, these guys are a
bit touchy to transplant. Like bouganvillea, they sometimes get upset if
you disturb the root ball too much. I suggest that when you transplant
them, just cut the bottom out of the nursery pot and plant them like that.
They send out these amazing runners, so the leftover pot parts won't bother
them a bit!

They are truly a delight to have, if you have enough room.

Nan
