My method of propagating lavender is similar to Alex Teller's, but on a
smaller scale. I take cuttings and ready them by stripping off the
bottom leaves as he does but I make mini-greenhouses. I poke a dozen
small holes in the bottom of styrofoam cups, insert the cuttings (up to
four) in damp vermiculite placed in each, then cover each with clear
plastic drink cups. They root in indirect light indoors in less than a
month, then I start dilute fertilization, and gradually take off the
clear cup and move them under florescent lights. Eventually, I repot
separately in a combination of vermiculate and potting soil. I've had
good luck with this and have also grown some Spanish lavender from seed.
Good luck with yours.
Good luck, Dominique. Many years ago, I spent two years in school in
Geneva, and have very fond memories of the city.
