ISLAND SEED COMPANY

Seeds for collectors and tropical plant growers from the Mariana Islands
in the western Pacific Ocean.  We only supply fresh seeds from naturally
occurring trees.  All seeds are hand collected and naturally air dried
prior to shipment.  They are not treated with any insecticides or
fungicides.  Those marked with an asterisk may not always be available.

Order via e-mail (where possible) and shipment will be sent to you once
payment is received.  Otherwise, send order with payment.  Minimum order
is $20.00 (US dollars) and includes postage.  Remit payment in full to:

Trees and Shrubs

Cycas circinalis
 Sexes are on separate trees.  Seeds require several months to
germinate.  Grows well in both shaded and direct sunlight.  Excellent
cultivated ornamental.  $1.50/4 seeds.

Pandanas tectorius
 Small to medium tree with serrated leaf margins and prop roots. Makes
an excellent cultivated ornamental.  Grows well in both shaded and
direct sunlight.  $1.50/5 seeds.

Cananga odorata *
 Medium tree with straggling branches and extremely fragrant flowers.
Introduced species.  $1.00/5 seeds.

Guamia marianne *
 Small, compact and many-branched understory tree with dark green glossy
leaves.  $1.50/4 seeds.

Cerbera dilatata *
 Tree up to 10 meters high with thick branches and fragrant flowers.
$1.50/4 seeds.

Neisosperma oppositifolia
 Straight growing tree up to 15 meters with whorled horizontal
branches.  Whorls are separated by fairly long distances.  $1.00/4

Ochrosia mariannensis
 Small to medium tree with waxy and glossy red or yellow paired fruits.

 Small tree up to 4 meters with few branches.  $1.00/5 seeds.

Ceiba pantandra
 The "cotton tree" is a straight growing medium to tall tree that loses
it leaves as fruits ripen.  Each tree produces an adundance of oblong
fruits (pods) filled with a cottony fiber of long hairs.  $1.00/5 seeds.

Cordia subcordata
 Small to medium  many branched tree with orange flowers.  Frequently
branches near the ground and produces a multi-trunk tree.  Grows best in

Tournefortia argentea
 Small to medium tree up to 5 meters with stout branches and a thick
spreading crown.  Grows rapidly and best in strand habitat.  $1.00/ 10

Maytenus tompsonii
 Small tree up to 3 meters with irregular branching that grows in forest
understory or edge.             $1.00/10 seeds.

Calophyllum inophyllum
 Large tree with large ascending limbs and broad crown.  Grows slowly in
strand and savanna habitats or as a cultivated plant.  $1.00/ 4 seeds.

Mammea odorata *
 Tree up to 10 meters with stout trunk and stiff, rigid branches.
Flowers borne on branches  and sometimes the trunk.  Growth is slow.

Terminalia catappa *
 Excellent as a cultivated plant that can grow up to 25 meters.

Intsia bijuga
 Medium to large tree up to 25 meters on nearly all soil types.  Wood is
dark, dense, heavy and termite resistant.  Highly sought after wood for

Erythrina variegata *
 Large stocky tree with sturdy trunk and branches both of which bear
spiny prickles.  Leaves are shed as flowers develop.  Flowers are

 Small tree or shrub to 4 meters with few ascending branches in strand
habitat.  Leaflets are downy silvery gray-green and flowers are yellow.

Hibiscus tiliaceus
 Small to medium tree up to 8 meters with low spreading branches,

 Medium tree up to 10 meters.  Similar in appearance to Hibiscus.

 Small to medium understory tree to 8 meters that produces orange
