Virginia Creeper (Parthenocissus quinquifolia) self sows here. I've had the
best luck cleaning the seeds, throwing them in a pot and putting the pot
outdoors. I get good germination in the spring. I've never had any luck
germinating them inside unless you go to the trouble of oscillating the
temperatures from 40 to 70. It doesn't matter whether or not the seeds are
dried first or not, but they don't germinate as well if they aren't cleaned
first. We get temps down in the low teens most years and it doesn't hurt them.
