FINDING GRANTS FOR IN VITRO MICROPROPAGATION EQUIPMENT

Hello, Everyone.

Please forgive me if this is a bit off topic, but I must take advatage
of the tremendous resources available through membership on these lists.

Fullerton College, Fullerton, California, has one of the finest
horticulture departments available.

Our courses of study run the gammet from basic Weekend Gardener classes
through Propagation, Nursery Management, Landscape Design and
Construction, Irrigation and Pest Management, even advanced LandCADD
computer applications. And, ofcourse, we're getting a hydroponics lab
started...

Now we have the opportunity to purchase a complete Tissue Culture
Micropropagation set up to allow us to add Somatic Embryogenesis to our
curriculum.

The equipment, originally intended for a local nursery's own propagation
program, has never been used. It includes a laminar flow isolation hood,
enviromnental control equipment and plenty of glassware.

The nursery wants to sell it to free up the space it's occupying and is
offering it at a very reasonable price.

My question: Is there anyone here who knows of organizations,
institutions or "angels" which have monies available for the furthering
of horticultural studies? Someone to whom we may make a Grant Proposal
for the acquisition of this marvelous equipment?

I'd appreciate any help you could give to point me in useful directions
of inquiry. And, ofcourse, to save bandwidth and stay on the good side
of the owner of the list, please respond to me privately.

Thanks so much for your assistance. This is really the kind of thing
the Internet came together for!
