Hi again. Re: Ginseng, 'around here' refers to NW Arkansas, zone 6. Yes,
there is wild ginseng here, and it pays well to dig the root. However, that
same good wage is the reason for the decrease in the wild stuff. I don't know
if this ginseng is the same as is in the grocery. I don't recall seeing it
in grocery stores., but I've never looked either. We buy ginseng from health
food stores etc. or, harvest the native root.
