I got some Superthrive included in an order of roses from the Roserie at
Bayfields (Lloyd Brace) with directions to include it in the preplanting
soak. This hardly qualifies as a scientific trial, but the roses did do
exceptionally well, and in a dry summer. I did get a small bottle, which I
expect will last a very long time, and I've been watering transplants with it
for the first few times. I do a lot of planting, and have had no ill
effects. I do agree the label & ads DO make it sound like snake oil. If the
rose folks hadn't recommended it (Royal River also suggested it) I doubt that
I would have tried it. I'd be interested to know about some genuine
investigations.
