Re: Freeze protection
Louise ~ I just came in from outside, ears burning from the cold wind, and
opened your message. I laughed and laughed. Though miles apart, you and I are
sisters in the battle. I used all the black plastic pots I could find, waste
baskets, sheets, metal buckets, big tupperware bowls and terra cotta pots.
When I came in once from outside my teenager stood her ground - "Don't even
think about my wastebasket, Mom. It's full."
A couple of hours later, when all was said and done, I realized I maybe covered
half of my plants. Sigh. This is one that Mother Nature will most likely win.
I am wondering though if the perennials, hostas and ferns will re-emerge????
How will it effect the remainder of the growing season? Anyone care to
speculate???
