I'm paranoid due to being on our town garden walk this year. I don't want a
bunch of half-black hosta leaves and epidmedium that are down for the count.
Normally I do grit my teeth....

Guys, these late spring freezes happen more years than not. My prediction
is that a month from now, you won't know the difference. I have never seen
one of these do THAT much damage.  You'll lose a few things, but on the
whole most everything will recover. When the weather warms up again,
you'll stroll thru the yard thinking "THAT wasn't so bad." Trust me! It
never is THAT bad.
