Diann, We do indeed have some great nurseries in the Seattle/Bellevue area.
I doubt you will be able to see them all in just one day. Your first choice,
Heronswood, is a ferry ride away from Seattle and will use up about half of
your time. You might as well stop at Reflective Gardens Nursery while you
are in Kingston. Swanson's Nursery in north Seattle (Ballard) is a good
place to visit. They do not ship plants. You can head to Bellevue and go to
Wells Median Nursery - which is one of my favorites. Very close to Wells
Medina is, in my opinion, the best private garden in Bellevue. Maybe the
owner who reads this board will invite you to visit her. There are many
other nurseries to visit but you will have to set priorities on your
available time. If you do come to the east side of Lake Washington you must
not miss The Bellevue Botanical Gardens. It is very worthwhile.
