My columbines absolutely take over my flower beds! Here in Kentucky, zone
6, they need partial shade and they self-seed like crazy. Columbines mutate
- and the color can be *anything* from year to year! I don't think I've
ever fertilized mine. I have pretty alkaline soil - which I think they like.
