Clyde:
I grow the variegated Brunnera and it grows just find for me with
no special attention. It receives some late morning sun, but is
otherwise in "bright" shade. The only fertilizer it receives is a
top dress of composted manure in late winter/early spring and, like
the rest of the garden it is subject to the inch of rain per week
rule ... in the absence of an inch of rainfall, I water with the hose.
I do know that Brunneras resent being moved once they are
established, so maybe a little gentle handling when installing them is
wise.
Hope it helps!! and good luck on the third try!!!

"They" say you should kill everything three
times before giving up. Where did you get
your plant? I am not brunnera fan, but love the
varigated, by the pictures, anyway.

Couldn't resist buying B. macrophylla
'Variegated' today. I have killed it
only twice so now is the watershed time. How
do you grow it? Does it need a
lot of sun? Water? Shade? Fertilizer?
Any advice would be sincerely appreciated.
