What about a Missouri primrose?  I have some that grow on the north side
of our house and receive only about 4 to 6 hours of sun daily, They are
close to my Chinese
Empress tree which shades them even moreso..The butter yellow is
impressive, although I think that there is a pinkish variety, too.
