Interesting topic. I have an observation on this. I just noticed my young
lilac that is now about 7 ft high that I transplanted as a little guy from my
dad's yard about 5 or 6 yrs ago, is finally going to bloom...not only that,
but it's in part shade. It's the old common lilac. too bad I didn't write
down what year it is..but I bet my dad would remember since he sold his house
the following summer (I think)
