Hello Bobbie, thanks for the response. You don't happen to know the names of
the Ajugas you're talking about huh?
About the Indian Hawthorn Scrubs = they're planted about 5' apart, from end
to end, on a 7' by 60' plot of ground, between two buildings, with lots of
light, that get about 3-4 hours of direct sun per day. The rest of the plot
of ground has grass on it. I want to replace the grass with Ajugas.
I live in zone 9, in New Orleans, the Cajun capital of the world. Don't you
recognize my accent Bobbie? LOL

On the ground cover thing...
Joe, I am not sure what you mean by 'scrubs'
That is a large area to use one ground cover...I would have thought some
drifts of plants and then some ground covers would have been nice, but then
I don't know the area, nor where you are from. I know, but I am fairly new
here to participate!
Such as using some hostas against the buildings in 7 ft drifts....is there a
path needed?
I love AJUGA, except when raking is needed, as then the shallow roots get
pulled up and you have a tangled mess, because of the runners that get sent
out.
Right now, I like the one that is larger than normal, dark leaved, and has
larger blooms. WHICH? anyone?
and the one that has tri colors...pink, white and green. I am propagating
that one right now, from clumps and tiny runners. Just plunked them in a
tray with soil almost covering the runners, and voila! in a month I have
good size plants!
I then pulled apart some good rooted ones and quart potted them for a new
project!
