My neighbors with the huge stand of Othello have them planted under lots of
trees in a west-facing yard. That's also the first time I've seen any
Ligularies with attractive flowering: not because each was so outstanding,
but because of the large number and the wave of them.
And Marge, thanks for the advice on my 'Cristata'-I'll take it.

Kemberly,
They do love water, but they loathe heat. I've grown 'The Rocket'
for years and it droops miserably when it gets hot, even if watered.
'Desdemona' was moved - after many years in my circle garden - to my
"bog" garden because our years of drought were causing her to fade.
It seems to have completely faded out on me and was NOT happy in the
"bog". I figured it was staying too wet at the crown and moved it to
a mound, but with all the rain we've had this season, that does not
seem to have helped. Lovely plants who prefer cool summer temps :-(
If 'Desdemona' has truly left me, I will replace her as the foliage
is what I grew her for, not her rather bright and brassy orange daisy
flowers.
