Hello Silke,
I don't remember where you garden just off hand, but I doubt hardiness is a
problem on your astilbe. They are usually listed as hardy from zones 3 through 8.
If planted in spring most will do OK until the hot and dry of summer comes on.
Then you find out if you picked the right spot for them.
