If you have nothing to save in the area, by all means--Roundup.  There is one problem with it's use , however.  It appears to activate any un-germinated seed.  I would suggest one of two procedures.  ! You can wait until a second "flush" of weeds appears, and plant to use Roundup again. 2. You can plant as soon as the existing weeds are dead, and use Preen, or a similar premerge.
