The Wisconsin Hardy Plant Society took a trip to Klehm's Song Sparrow in the spring of 2001. Unfortunately, it was too early for the peonies to be in bloom, though we did walk to see their fields - in heavy mud that day. It would be a treat to see the fields in full bloom, but I do not believe they allow drop-in visitors. That's too bad, because their shipping costs are quite high and it would be nice to be able to go there and pick up plants. The day we visited they were very generous to us - serving us lunch and giving us each a dahlia as a gift. We were also allowed to shop for anything they had for sale and carry it away on the bus with us. What a temptation that was! Roy Klehm spoke to us and introduced John Elsley, who, I believe, is dividing his time between Wayside and Klehm's, though that may no longer be true.
