Re: Lupines

I appreciate all the information about this plant.  I am not sure where I
could find the tall Tree Lupines, but I have a book which says they need
Zone 8 and up anyway.  We are on the west coast, but in the dry climate of
the Sierras.  Our nights are coldish always in California, typically as much
as 50 deg. colder than in the day.  But we definitely are not maritime
weather.  It is interesting to know that others have had trouble with them.
We do have small native lupines which grow along the highway at various
elevations.  Guess I may have to be satisfied with those.
