Hi Bob,
Good luck on your hosta sport. You'll know for sure that you have something
new after it grows the same for three seasons. Maybe you'll become the King
of the Hosta.
I had dreams of being King of the Daylilies several years ago. I found a
daylily for sale at a show in Mineral Point, Wisconsin, that had a yellow
stripe in the middle the entire length of each leaf. I thought I had made a
great $5 purchase. There was no name, no bloom, just that incredible looking
foliage. I babied that plant right through the first hard freeze; it came
back the second year, producing the same leaves. Unfortunately, it was a
weak little plant that died in August despite all the care I gave it.
There went my King of the DLs title. But as they say, "There's always next
year......"
Good luck, Bob.
