I grow the True Solomon's seal both in full sun and in shade.  I
prefer the variegated beauty.  True it is less vigorous, but oh, when
that thing emerges in the spring with pink/lav tips, it is quite a
sight to see. It then matures with light edges and goes quite well
with hostas, ferns, and geraniums.  I dig it up quite regularly to
sell so never have a huge clump, but a little var. goes a long way!
