I also have a few Clivia plants to trade. These are blooming size, offsets
from a plant I have had for 30 years. Not the usual type: foliage is
narrow, to 3 ft. long, flowers are smaller and somewhat nodding. Could be
an interspecific hybrid.
Finally, a few medium-size plants of a pink-flowered Crinum (name unknown)
that is hardy in Zone 7a.
I'm interested in material of other Cape bulbs, unusual hardy bulbs, or
orchids. >>
A distinguished list Bill. We have trouble here with Cape bulbs and winter
growth under glass. There does not seem to be enough sun in the fall/winter
months.
Have you tried ornithogalum dubium? I grew a pot full of these last winter
finding the flowers last up to three months. I need to use fluorescent light
even with glass.
There is a South African bulb group that writes to Alpine-L occasionally, it
is based in the UK.
Here are two links for Cape bulbs. Silverhill handles all kinds of South
African seed and the link labeled untitled is Jim Duggan in California. I
have copied my bookmark which is the first page of the catalog.
I wish we had trade material but we have a struggle keeping the bulbs alive.
Clivia, however, is not difficult.
