    I do not know if it is still out there, but my favorite book on the subject is
"Clematis" by Barry Fretwell. ISBN 0-913643-03-3, Capability's Books. A fellow
nursery person up in Ohio says she has both and still prefers the older one by
Fretwell. You may want to at least check into it. Lots of great photos of the
species and small-flowered Clematis.
