hey all
one of the finest stands of k. latifolia is is waleska, ga, where there is a
natural "bowl" about 40' high or so, and very very steep.
it is covered in nothing but kalmia.
rock and a quiet stream is it's feet
it's head is climax hickory/oak relationship.
formerly the site of a small private botanical garden
a test site for azalea seedlings from dc.
wonderful stands in maryland too, allegheney plateau.
