Make sure you have a lottery ticket, Gene.  I've seen a backyard with a
brilliant little stream (about 14 inches across, running over gravel
consisting of some colored stones), and ending in a pond.  It's a
recirculating system, no outside-the-yard origin.  Margaret L

    What I would not give for a small constant stream or pond here so I
could grow the tall candelabra type primula... sigh. I do have a few
Japonica in a child's wadding pool I buried and filled with sand and peat,
but that is not the same as large drifts of those beauties.
