Re: Rebloomers/ Primula

Hello Marilyn,
Lucky you to be able to garden near a pond or stream. That and were you
live certainly goes a looooog way in how many primula one can grow well. I
stay with the species and hybrids that do not require the additional
moisture. What I plant in the garden has do make a go of it on what happened
naturally around here. That is moisture in the spring and early summer, but
hot dry summers and fall.
I am a big fan of the little juliana hybrids. Have been meaning to give
the wandas a trial, but still have not gotten around to it. Almost ordered
Sunshine Susie, but passed because I have a small rebloomer in yellow that
is fragrant that is supposed to be a juliana hybrid. I have two named forms
of P veris. The species and Sunset Red. P. veris is just about my favorite..
so easy to grow in the woodland garden. Mine is with helleborus in a raised
bed.
One day I hope to dig a large bog here.... then try some of the
candelabra primula like one sees in English gardening books.
