Ho Ho HO & a Munchkin

Cold weather returned yesterday along with some strong wind and rain. This
morning I fired up the woodstove and saw that all the birds had plenty of
food in all the feeders. Then it was time to feed us. Made up a big pot of
vegetable beef soup and put it on the woodstove to simmer all day. I will
take it off and let it set and cool overnight and then return it to the
stove to simmer some more tomorrow. Good soup can not be eaten the first
day.
This afternoon the sun came out a bit and I took off to the woods. Cut
some sumac seed pods, rose hips, cedar with blue berries and white pine
branches along with holly and its waxy red berries. They are on the front
porch for my
partner to play with when she comes in from work. We enjoy natural
decorations for the holidays. Also took down the screens and washed the
windows just to stay on the good side of Mrs. Santa. (She is where the true
power resides in gifts received).
Is everyone getting in the mood for Christmas and the holidays? I know I
have put myself on good behavior for the duration.....
Soon it will be time to make candy, cookies and cakes...
