bill, in re-reading thru some files today, i noticed this line. hopefully,
or maybe serendipitously, you have hit upon the most unusual member of the
conifers, the ginkgo.
mine stands stately and tall until that one final cold rain erases it's gold
streak from the evergreen background here.
i also have a very young one which makes a "lightning strike" across the dark
red of an old old acer palmatum.
when i was a puppy, in pgh. pa, we collected the fleshy seeds of the
beautiful street trees lining the conservatory in schenley park.
woof
we soon learned the lesson of not losing a bag of ginkgo fruits in the trunk
of dad's car.
