Slug question

Any slug experts out there? I've been wondering if they will freeze if it
gets cold enough. If so, how cold would that be? Are they being protected by
the snow cover I've been getting? These last two drought-stricken summers
have really cut down on my slug population, and I have hopes that the winter
might do a few more in.
