I find it also roots very readily from cuttings, particularly those
taken at the beginning of the season when I'm cutting the plants
back...just as new growth begins.
FWIW it survives my cold z. 7 winters pretty well. I have lost
plants and have others that have been with me for years. My oldest
plant is one in an area that floods when it rains...go figure for a
plant that supposedly needs extra sharp drainage.
Find it does very well in high dappled shade or part day sun.
Wouldn't think heavy shade would suit it, but light shade in hot
climates seems fine. One of my favorite plants that I would not want
to be without.
