Want help to clear up about BAP 10.
It is my own fault I didn't read this tread from the beginning, the reason
for that is I had no idea of what is was - and now I also probably have
lost some mail since being away. Maybe I am not the only one in this
situation so i would be glad if some one take time to answer my questions:
1. BAP = only one component: benzyladenin; one the cytokinin plante hormone?
2. It among others works as bud- and seed dormancy breaker, it prevent
apical dominance, stimulate cell growing ....
- and for Hosta it is used for getting bigger plants => more plant
materials from breeders .. or ????
3. Has this or other cytokinins been tried in other plants than hosta?
Is this normal used by nurseries or potflower produseres for making bigger
plants?
4. Time for applying? What time - periode - stage/age of plant?
5. About doses! Again :) - still I have understood very little about the
discussion some of you have had in some robins, but ... :
ppm = part per 1000 (like prosent = part per 100). So as an example if I
should have 5 ppm of *XXX*, that would be 5 milliliters *XXX* in 1000
milliliters water?
And do I understand right if BAP dosage is supposed to be 1000 ppm BAP to
3000 ppm destilled water (reading this in Will Nash latest mail about this)
- that mean a dosage of 1 to 3 -> a 25 % solution? And pr 1000 milliliter
(ml) water (= 1 liter!) we use ~333 ml BAP10, so total mixture then will be
about 4 liter?
IF this about doses is TOTALLY WRONG understood please someone experienced
must explain, so this I write not CONFUSES a lot others that also feel unsure?
