Good for the plants, bad for the fenders! I looked today, and some of my
gardens on the north have retained some snow cover. Am going to go out and
shovel some snow around the base of a White Bud tree I am trying to
establish. Mutation of the Red Bud, and they are a bit fussy in this zone.
They will either do well (I have driven past a house I lived in as a child,
and one of two Red Buds is still alive and well. I was 8 when we moved there,
they were already established at that time, I'm now 45, you do the math). I
do hope this one will prosper. It is in a lovely place.
As soon as after temps are a bit warmer, I will be putting a bit of water on
my shade garden. It is very protected under the deck. I hope it has not
suffered too much already. Spring will tell. And then I'll fill in the blanks!
