Re: Cimicifuga ramosa atropurpurea

Nancy:
My experience is that cimicifuga are pretty indestructible. I tried for a
couple of years to grow them in seriously dry dark shade, and they barely
survived though one tough guy always bloomed a little. Each spring they
optimistically reappeared. When I finally moved them to a brighter,
better-drained, moister location, they had very small root systems but grew
to almost their advertised size and put on a pretty good show.
