I'm just trying to catch up on my mail & maybe this has been answered.
Anyway- the word is 'synergistic' and it basically means that they help
each other have the desired effect. So you get the good stuff without
the bad effects that may come from using large amounts of just one.

I hope you do not mind it I add a little more detail to your answer,
Synergistic is a term used in Biology to describe an effect caused by the
interaction of two diffrent causal agents that results in a great response
than what one would see by way of those agents working by them selves.
A theoretical example would be:
If chemical A caused plants to grow 10 percent tall
And Chemical B caused plants to grow 10 percent faster.
But together (Chemicals A + B) they have a synergistic effect and plants
treated with both A and B produced 15 percent taller plants and 20 faster
growth, instead of the 10 percent increase using each chemical by it's self.
