Re: [SHADEGARDENS] (no subject)

Good morning:

I was pleased to see the website up and available. Let's tell others about
this list.

Answer about getting arisaema seeds: I received mine through Arisaema-l.
Am waiting to get back on list after changing isps.

My flower arranging class is proving to be quite interesting and fun.
Yesterday, my instructor was a bit surprised that I had found silk hosta
leaves. She's never seen anyone use this species in designs before. I
figure if the Japanese do it, I can learn too. Am using silk for now but
hoping that "real" ones can be used in the summer. The contemporary flower
arranging class teaches some of the oriental techniques which is where I
first saw hosta leaves used in arrangements.

Michigan is sure having a strange winter. Everyone seems to be getting lots
of snow except for us. Now if this can just keep up until garden season,
I'll be happy.

I joined the Primrose society--received their catalog this week and am very
pleased. About 1/2 of the seeds I got from the North American Rock Garden
Society were primrose seeds. I've planted everything and put them out in
the cold frame for mother nature's cold/warm cycles. Hoping for lots of
plants to put in garden this spring and early summer.
