Thanks Sherryl,
well right now I have none :-(

My experience is limited---
for 3 years I had a tiny front yard and a larger than average backyard (for
the area) Near Berkeley, California.
I worked the (otherwise) full sun front with all the fun of San Francisco
Fog etc.,
while playing with ideas and design as well as reading every periodical I
could get my hands on for the backyard-- which was overshadowed by a
neighbors Giant Redwood).
the most important or expensive lesson I learned was: you Must have a
basic design because otherwise if you spend hundreds of dollars on plants
on impulse before the ground is ready most likely they will die if you have
to work full tilme and raise a child alone.

We recently relocated to of all places Cullman, Alabama which basicly means
most things I learned have to be relearned as Everything is different.
this year I can only container garden & am actually planning vegtables
although I have at least as much shade in my current location as I do sun.

Mostly I want to lurk..
I am in my 4th week of a Master Gardeners course although I feel I will be
a novice or *Intern* for a long time past the title.
I Love Hosta but want to know what grows well here in the shade. (when you
can find some in the summer).
thats about it. any gardening I do in the future will most likely be rasied
beds as we have (can I say Crap??) for soil-- (sandstone is the parent
material) with little or no top soil.
I compost my kitchen scraps and hope to have worms soon....(not
parisites.... wigglers!)

I guess thats all the rambling for now.
