Hello Kenda,
        Welcome! sounds to me as though you have been doing some good homework.
Garden Gate is a good project orientated magazine I enjoyed subscribing to
from the first issue. I also have most of Ken's books and enjoy the
knowledge and photos of his books. My partner subscribes to Country Living
Gardener and I pick up her copy on occasion.
        Having the backbone to know and live with what feels right to you rather
than what others think you should be doing is not always easy but it is
very rewarding in gardening. I think you already know what you want, it is
just a matter of letting it all come together in its own time and way for
you. The rest is just finding the materials to assist the flow.
        There are many fine nurseries specializing in shade plants out there to
assist you,
