Hostaholics

Hi Group,

For all you Hostaholics out there, or anyone interested in Hostas, there
is a nursery in a neighboring town that is - from what I understand -
renowned for Hostas. I've been their and seen out of state license
plates. I have their 1998 Hosta Catalogue and it is 202 pages long !
There are anywhere from 4 to 7 Hostas per page. Just glancing through it
I see prices ranging anywhere from $5 to $150. OUCH ! Some of them have
reduced prices for quantities of 3, 10, 25, and 50+.

Anyone interested could give them a call for a catalogue. I don't know
if there is a charge or not. They also have a daylily catalogue. Neither
catalogue has pictures, just descriptions.

If they are out of stock on any items they will keep a Wish List for you
for when it does become available.

Also, if you happen to be in the area and have the better part of a day
available, they have a very large garden you can cruise through and
DROOL !!!!!! For anyone that finds they would like to do this, e-mail me
and I will give you directions - they are out in the country between
Bellville and Butler, Ohio (southeast of Mansfield, roughly half way
between Columbus and Cleveland).

Per their catalogue:

One plant, usually 2 eyes or crowns, are Bare Root, if shipped, or are
in pots if picked up here. On rare occasions, only a single eye or crown
is shipped, if it is a new or rare Hosta.

Large Orders - Special discounts apply to large orders of $2000 to $5000
or more.

Wholesale - A special price list is available for Bare Root Hostas in
quantities of 10 each, up to hundreds each. Buyers to qualify, need a
vendors license or nursery license.

Mail Order - We ship primarily U.P.S., one or two day air mail, often
priority U.S. Postal. We ship to England, Canada, Holland, Germany,
Belgium, and Japan. All shipments are Bare Root, clean washed and
packed. No potted plants are shipped. All shipments are insured and
guaranteed to arrive in good growing conditions. Prices are f.o.b. our
nursery, payable when ordered, or charged to credit card upon shipping.

For those Hostas that you've just got to have and can't find anywhere
else, I think there would be a very good chance that these folks will
have it. If there is a specific Hosta(s) you are looking for and wonder
if they do have it, you could e-mail me and I could look it up in my
catalogue. I have currently misplaced my daylily catalogue.

They also have several pulmonarias, some perennials, shrubs, ornamental
grasses, trees, groundcovers, and various other shade plants.
